Problem of the month: August
Directions: Make sure you read the word problem at least twice. Work out the problem showing pictures and answer the question in a complete sentence. Bring the answer in to your teacher showing ALL of your work on a piece of paper and if you are correct you get a prize!

Sarah had one package of crayons that had 48 crayons in it. She got three more packages of crayons that had 24 crayons in them. How many crayons did Sarah have in all?
If Sarah saved 48 of those crayons for later in the year, how many would she have for the beginning?
