Reading

     1   The Highly Proficient student will have been exposed to all 3rd grade reading obectives.

         *   We will be incorporating all of the Reading objectives in many ways to prepare for the                   AZMerit Assessment and the 4th quarter Benchmark Assessment.

​

Writing

     1   The Highly Proficient student will write a research paper using multiple sources to cite                     evidence.

​

     2   The Highly Proficient student will write a narrative story that includes: characters, setting,             plot, sensory details, dialogue, & a logical sequence of events.  

​

Math

     1    The Highly Proficient student will recognize & sort examples of quadrilaterals with shared             attributes & draw examples & non-examples of quadrilaterals that are not rhombuses,                   rectangles, or squares.

​

     2   The Highly Proficient student will find the area of 2-plane figures by counting the square               units or multiplying side lengths & compare sizes.  Also, create a word problem using the                 distributive property to find the area of rectangles. 

​

     3   The Highly Proficient student will construct rectangles that have the same perimeter but                 different areas.

​

Science

      1    The Highly Proficient student will show how objects vibrate to make sound. 

​

     2    The Highly Proficient student will identify the different tools & techniques that people use              to solve problems.

​

     3    The Highly Proficient student will describe ways humans use earth materials.  (Example:                  fuel, building materials, growing food,..)

​

Social Studies

      1    The Highly Proficient student will talk about events from the past and how they affect the

           events of the present and the future.

​

     2.   The Highly Proficient student will identify people who worked for the freedoms and rights              of others.
